MANDATORY CADET KIT LIST
The following items are required for participation in the Field Training Exercise (FTX). A kit check will be performed prior to departure to the training site. Failure to possess any of the following items may exclude cadets from participation in this activity. This list is a minimum. All cadets are responsible for their own gear; any lost or stolen items are the sole responsibility of the cadet. Cadets are recommended to label all of their items with their name.
REQUIRED ITEMS:
x1 set Field Training Uniform (FTU) tunic and pants (if issued)
x1 pair of issued FTU boots
x1 pair insulated winter boots
x1 cadet two-piece parka and liner (if issued), or civilian winter jacket
x1 insulated winter pants
x1 Beret (if issued)
x1 toque
x3 pair gloves or mittens
x2 shirts (blue issued t-shirt and long-sleeve shirt)
x5 pairs socks
x5 pairs undergarments
x1 set of thermal under layers
x1 set of sleepwear
x1 sweater or hoodie
x1 pair pants
x1 brimmed hat (tilley, ball cap)
Toiletries kit (soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, hygiene products)
x1 washcloth
x1 pillow
x1 sleeping bag (should be suitable to temperatures down to 0oC)
Notebook
Pencils
Backpack
Flashlight (and batteries if applicable)
x1 refillable water bottle
mug, and
any prescribed medications (if applicable).
PROHIBITED ITEMS:
Knives
Illegal substances (ie. alcohol, tobacco, drugs);
Matches, lighters, or other fire starters;
Inappropriate materials, and/or;
Bear spray, pepper spray (ie. mace).
