Last minute FTX Tips!

83 Juno Beach! Level 1s and 2s, I hope you're excited for your first FTX! The Level 4s and 5s have been working hard to put together a fun overnight survival weekend for you!

Here's a reminder of final tips and notes to help you prepare.

➑️ Parents/Guardians, there will be a parent meeting this coming Tuesday, March 4 starting at 1830. I will be present to answer any questions you have about the FTX. You are permitted to stay the entire night and watch the CO's parade with the cadets following the meeting.

πŸš— Arrive no later than 1700 (5pm) on Friday, March 7 at LHQ (Sheperd Community Hall). All cadet's will have their kit checked to ensure they have all the necessary equipment for the FTX and no prohibited items. As soon as the bus is packed, we will be leaving. The bus will not wait for any latecomers.

➑️ Cadets, make sure you have everything listed in the kit list. Everyone is required to bring your own sleeping bag. Cadets who do not have all the mandatory items will not be permitted to attend and will be sent home for your own safety. Kit should be packed in a duffle bag or a big enough backpack.

πŸ’Š MEDICATIONS - All medications will be retained by the First Aid Officer (Captain Krebs) upon arrival along with the requisite information on associated medical conditions, dosage and intake requirements. *It is the cadet's responsibility to remember which medications to take, when and how*

🍴Please eat dinner *BEFORE* coming to LHQ. Dinner will not be served on Friday, however there will be hot chocolate and light snacks before bed.

Good news! MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) military rations have been secured and we will now be eating this for each meal. I will bring a sample to the Parent Meeting for those curious about what this is.

πŸ”₯ There's lots of fun activities planned for the cadets! Aside from our survival training classes led by the seniors, we will have squadron games, shelter building contest, and time to bond and tell stories by the campfire. Cadets will get to experience long-lived traditions and explore survival skills in a safe, engaging manner.
